About the coating
What is Afterfade Pro-Tech+?
A wipe-on colour and gloss coating that brings faded aluminium and PVC back to life. It restores the original depth of colour and adds a protective satin gloss, with no spraying, sanding or replacing.
Which surfaces does it work on?
Aluminium and PVC: window frames, front and back doors, gates, garage doors and glass-wall profiles. It is made for exterior surfaces that have gone faded, dull or chalky.
Will it restore the original colour?
Yes. Pro-Tech+ re-saturates the surface so the original colour and a deep, even gloss come back. It is clear, so it revives the colour that is already there rather than painting over it.
How long does it last?
The finish protects against sun and UV for up to five years. A quick Refill re-coat every few years keeps it looking new.
Applying it
Is it hard to apply?
No. If you can wipe a surface, you can apply Afterfade. Most people restore a whole feature in one afternoon, with no contractor and no renovation.
Do I need to prepare the surface first?
Yes, and it is simple. Clean and degrease the surface with the included Afterfade Prep+, then let it dry. A clean, dry surface is the key to a lasting finish.
How do I apply it?
Shake the coating well and spread a thin, even layer with the applicator pad. Work panel by panel, out of direct sun, then buff lightly with the microfibre cloth for an even satin sheen.
How long before it is dry?
It is touch-dry within a few hours. Keep it dry for the first few hours and avoid rain on the same day. The finish fully hardens over the following days.
Can I apply it in any weather?
Apply to a dry surface, out of direct sun, on a dry day above roughly 10°C. Avoid rain for the first few hours after coating.
Choosing your kit
Which kit should I choose?
The Complete Kit restores a whole house: about a double garage door, a door and 10 to 15 window frames. The Gate & Door Kit is sized for one feature, such as a single gate or garage door.
What is the Refill for?
The Pro-Tech+ Refill is the coating on its own, for topping up protection or re-coating later. It is the economical way to keep the finish looking new over the years.
Do I need the pad and cloth?
Both are included in the kits. You can also buy the applicator pad and microfibre cloth on their own, or as a value pack, for bigger jobs or replacements.
