Anti-fog coating for mirrors, glass and visors
Everything else in your order ships as usual, the next working day. The pre-order item follows in its own parcel at no extra shipping cost.
Prep the glass, mist on one thin coat and buff it clear, and the fog stops forming. Bathroom mirrors, shower screens, the inside of the windscreen, glasses and helmet visors: glass and plastic that stays clear when the steam hits.
Where will you use it?
The eight steps are the same on all glass. Pick yours and the page shows where to start, how to clean it and how much you need.
Shower screens and cabins
The screen fogs the moment the water runs hot. Coated, the glass stays clear through a hot shower, so the cabin still looks like glass.
- Start with
- The inside face, where the steam settles.
- Clean it with
- A damp cloth only.
- Best moment
- On dry, cool glass. Fully cured after 4 hours.
- You need
- 1 kit per screen and mirror
- Watch out
- Not over Claro-Tech+ or a factory water-repellent coating.
Bathroom mirrors
The mirror you need straight after a hot shower. Coated, it stays clear when the steam hits: no wiping a gap with your hand.
- Start with
- The whole mirror, edge to edge.
- Clean it with
- A damp cloth only, no glass spray.
- Best moment
- After the room has aired, on a dry, cool mirror.
- You need
- 1 kit, with plenty to spare
- Watch out
- Let a heated mirror cool first: never on hot glass.
Glasses and helmet visors
In from the cold, or a visor shut on a cold morning: you see nothing. Coated, it stays clear.
- Start with
- Both sides of each lens, or the inside of the visor.
- Clean it with
- A damp cloth only.
- Best moment
- In the evening, ready to wear by morning.
- You need
- A fraction of a bottle
- Watch out
- Not over a water-repellent lens finish (water beads on it).
Inside the windscreen
Cold mornings and warm breath fog the windscreen from inside. Coated, it stays clear.
- Start with
- The inside of the windscreen, then the side and rear glass if they fog.
- Clean it with
- A damp cloth only.
- Best moment
- In the shade or a garage, on cool glass, heating off. Fully cured after 4 hours.
- You need
- 1 kit per car
- Watch out
- Inside only. Never on a hot windscreen or in direct sun.

Fit the mist pump
Shake Fog-Prep+ and fit the mist pump. Work on cool, dry glass between +10 °C and +25 °C, out of direct sun. Start with the inside face of the screen. Start with the whole mirror, edge to edge. Start with one lens, or the inside of the visor. Work on cool glass in the shade, windscreen first.

5/8
Spray on Fog-Tech+
Mist Fog-Tech+ evenly over the clean, dry glass, one surface at a time.
-
6/8
Cover the whole surface

How far one bottle goes
One 50 ml bottle covers up to 6 m² of glass or plastic.
- A bathroom mirror
- about 0,5 m²
- A shower screen, one side
- about 1,8 m²
- The inside of a car windscreen
- about 1 to 1,5 m²
- Glasses or a helmet visor
- well under 0,1 m²
- Mirror, screen and windscreen
- under 4 m²
Not for
- Water-repellent coatings, Claro-Tech+ included: Fog-Tech+ does not work over them.
- Hot glass, glass in direct sun, and anything warmer than +30 °C: let it cool and coat it in the shade.
- The outside of the windscreen: that is rain, not fog, and it needs a water-repellent coating like Claro-Tech+.
The right conditions
- Glass between +10 °C and +25 °C, out of direct sun.
- Clean glass: Fog-Prep+ first, then 5 minutes to dry.
- 4 hours to fully cure once you have buffed.
Afterwards: a damp cloth only
- Clean the coated glass with a damp cloth. No glass sprays, no chemical cleaners.
- Every cleaning takes a little of the coating with it: after about 5 cleanings the effect weakens.
- When the glass fogs again, prep and recoat. A mirror uses a fraction of the bottle.
Why not just wipe it every time?
- A wipe clears the glass for a moment, then it fogs again. Fog-Tech+ stops the fog forming on the glass.
- No hand-wiped streak across the mirror, and no sleeve rubbed over the windscreen on a cold morning.
- One coat keeps working until about the fifth cleaning. Then you prep and recoat from the same bottle.

Ask Afterfade
How long does one treatment last?
About five cleanings. Each cleaning takes a little of the coating with it. When the glass fogs up again, prepare it again with Fog-Prep+ and apply Fog-Tech+ again.
How far does one kit go?
One 50 ml bottle of Fog-Tech+ covers up to 6 m², depending on the surface. As a guide: a bathroom mirror is about 0,5 m², one side of a shower screen about 1,8 m² and the inside of a windscreen about 1 to 1,5 m².
Can it go over Claro-Tech+ or another coating?
No. Fog-Tech+ does not work over water-repellent coatings, Claro-Tech+ included. Use it only on a suitable, clean and grease-free surface.
Is it suitable for my glasses or visor?
The product page lists glass and plastic as uses. For glasses and visors, first check compatibility with any existing treatment and the manufacturer’s instructions. If in doubt, ask for advice before use.
Can I keep using my usual glass cleaner?
After treatment, use only a damp cloth. Glass cleaners and other chemical cleaners can affect the coating.
