Afterfade Claro-Tech+ | Glass Coating Set
Water rolls off. Less scrubbing, more clarity. One application, up to 12 months of clear glass, from the shower screen to the windscreen.
Everything else in your order ships as usual, the next working day. The pre-order item follows in its own parcel at no extra shipping cost.
Claro-Tech+ is a water-repellent nano coating for plain glass: shower screens, house windows, conservatory and shed glass, and car glass. One application bonds an invisible layer to the glass that makes water bead up and roll off before it can dry into limescale, soap scum or water spots. For up to 12 months the glass stays clear with nothing more than a rinse and a damp cloth.
The set holds everything for one full application: the 30 ml coating with a built-in dropper, Claro-Prep+ to strip the old build-up first, a spray head, an applicator pad, a grey microfibre towel, two white glass towels and a pair of gloves. One set covers about 6 m² of glass.
Specifications
Where will you use it?
The eight steps are the same on all glass. Pick yours and the page shows where to start, how to rinse and how many sets you need.
Shower screens and cabins
The hardest-working glass in the house. Coated, the water beads up and runs off before it can dry into limescale or soap scum.
- Start with
- The inside face. The outside is optional.
- Rinse with
- The hand shower.
- Best moment
- Any time. Keep the shower out of use for 4 hours afterwards.
- You need
- 1 set per shower
- Watch out
- Real glass only: not for acrylic or plastic screens.
House windows
Rain carries the dirt off instead of drying it on, so windows stay clear longer between cleans and dry without spots.
- Start with
- The outside face, the side that takes the weather.
- Rinse with
- A garden hose, or a bucket of clean water and a glass towel.
- Best moment
- A dry, mild day with the glass in the shade and no rain for 4 hours.
- You need
- 1 set per 4 to 6 windows
- Watch out
- Not for glass that already has a factory coating.
Conservatory, shed and greenhouse glass
The glass that never gets a weekly clean. Coat it once and let the rain do the work.
- Start with
- The outside, roof glass included, one pane at a time.
- Rinse with
- A garden hose.
- Best moment
- A dry, mild day with the glass in the shade and no rain for 4 hours.
- You need
- 2 to 3 sets for a conservatory, 1 for a shed
- Watch out
- Glass only: not for polycarbonate roof panels.
Car glass
Rain beads up and clears from the windscreen, side and rear glass as you drive.
- Start with
- The outside of the windscreen, then the side and rear glass.
- Rinse with
- A hose or pressure washer.
- Best moment
- In the shade or a garage, on cool glass. Keep the car dry for 4 hours.
- You need
- 1 set per car
- Watch out
- Not for the inside of the windscreen or for plastic lamp covers.

Eight steps, start to finish
Clean first, then coat. The cleaning matters most: the coating only bonds to glass that is spotless and dry.
Shown on a shower screen. The steps are the same on your glass.
-
1/8
Spray on Claro-Prep+
Shake Claro-Prep+ for 20 seconds and fit the spray head. Mist one pane at a time, top to bottom, until the glass is evenly wet. Start with the inside of the shower. Start with the outside face, the side that takes the weather. Start outside, roof glass included. Work on cool glass in the shade, windscreen first.
-
2/8
Work it in
Fold one of the white glass towels flat and scrub in small overlapping circles with firm pressure. Go twice over the areas where the build-up is thickest. The film turns milky as it lifts.
-
3/8
Rinse
Rinse the pane from the top down until the water runs clear and no milky film is left. If a patch still looks dull, repeat steps 1 to 3 on that patch. Use the hand shower. Use a garden hose, or a bucket of clean water and a glass towel. Use a garden hose. Use a hose or pressure washer.
-
4/8
Dry
Dry the pane completely with the second, dry white glass towel folded into quarters, edges and seals included. The coating only bonds to dry glass.
-
5/8
Add Claro-Tech+ to the pad
Turn the bottle over. The built-in dropper gives one drop at a time. Put 6 to 8 drops on the applicator pad, and add a few more for each new section.
-
6/8
Apply in a cross-hatch
Work one section of no more than 50 x 50 cm. Wipe up and down first, then side to side over the same section, overlapping each pass so no glass is missed. A thin wet film is enough.
-
7/8
Leave to haze
Leave the section for 10 minutes. It dries to a white haze, which is the coating bonding to the glass. Coat the next section while you wait. Never in direct sun or on warm glass.
-
8/8
Polish off
Buff the haze off with the grey microfibre towel, turning it to a clean side as it loads up, until the glass is perfectly clear. No shower for 4 hours. The outside of the screen is optional: coat it the same way if it gets splashed. Keep rain and sprinklers off the glass for 4 hours. Keep rain and sprinklers off the glass for 4 hours. Keep the car dry for 4 hours: no rain and no washing.
Same shower. Same glass.
Claro-Prep+ takes the build-up off. Claro-Tech+ stops it coming back for up to 12 months.

How far one set goes
One 30 ml set covers about 6 m² of glass.
- A walk-in screen or a full glass shower cabin
- 1 set
- House windows
- 1 set per 4 to 6 windows
- A conservatory, roof glass included
- 2 to 3 sets
- A shed or greenhouse
- 1 set
- A car, all glass
- 1 set
Not for
- Acrylic, plastic or polycarbonate: this set is for real glass only.
- Frosted, sandblasted or textured glass, and glass that already carries a factory coating or an earlier nano treatment.
- Mirrors and windows that fog up: that is condensation, not water, and it needs an anti-fog coating.
The right conditions
- Glass between +10 °C and +30 °C, out of direct sun.
- A ventilated room, or outdoors on a dry day.
- 4 hours without water once you have polished.
Afterwards: water and a cloth
- Rinse the glass and wipe it with a damp cloth. No sprays, no scrubbing.
- Skip the chemical cleaners: an acid or abrasive cleaner wears the coating down faster than a year of showers does.
- When water stops beading, scrub and recoat. One application lasts up to 12 months, depending on use. One set per application.
Why not a limescale spray every week?
- A spray removes limescale after it has formed. Claro-Tech+ stops it forming: the water leaves before it can dry.
- A year of weekly sprays costs more than one set, and you breathe them in a closed shower every time.
- Coated glass stays clear between cleans, so the shower looks new on a Tuesday, not only after the Saturday scrub.

Not sure about your glass?
Ask Afterfade
Will it stop limescale completely?
No. The coating helps water bead and run off, which can reduce mineral build-up and make cleaning easier. Water left to dry can still leave deposits. Regular rinsing or wiping remains important.
How long does the protection last?
The original product specifications state up to 12 months. Actual durability depends on use, preparation, water conditions and maintenance. Avoid abrasive or acidic cleaners after coating.
How much glass can one set cover?
Approximately 6 m² per 30 ml bottle, depending on the glass and application. Measure the area you plan to treat before choosing your quantity.
Which surfaces should I avoid?
Do not use on acrylic, plastic, polycarbonate, frosted, sandblasted or textured glass, or glass with an existing factory coating. Anti-fog treatment is a separate product. For cars, use only on exterior glass, not plastic lamp covers.
When can the glass get wet again?
Keep it dry for at least 4 hours after polishing. Plan shower treatment for a time when the shower can remain unused.
